Sea of Thieves

Image: Rare

It’s been a long time since we reviewed Sea of Thieves, but time has been generous to Rare’s multiplayer adventure game. The original crew-like has only gotten better with age: broadening its horizons, expanding in depth, and refining its toolkit for having fun and making cool memories. At one end of the pirate sim experience is a robust MMO sandbox for meeting random strangers or teaming up with old friends to find your own fun. At the other are themed quests that offer a more directed experience to showcase the freeform role-play that makes Sea of Thieves so special. Grab a map, find some treasure, and see where the winds take you next. — Ethan Gach

A good match for: People who like blowing up ships and singing songs together.

A bad match for: Those who get sea sick or don’t like talking into a mic.
