Our favorite comment of this week comes to you from Outrider:
What I want are games based around the control methods provided by the device. I do not want games that show me gameplay similar to what I can already play on a console and PC.
The most frustrating thing about tablet gaming is that developers seem eager to make either casual touch-based games that arenāt targeted to enthusiast gamers OR they try to mimic the gameplay already available on the Xbox/PS3/PC but with awful virtual gamepads. The list of actual games that try to create āhardcoreā tablet-specific experiences (or tablet-optimized experiences, even) instead of trying to emulate console/pc games is incredibly short.
This doesnāt seem like an unreasonable request, but sometimes I feel crazy that hardly anybody is offering titles in which the gameplay is actually developed with the platform in mind. (Instead, developers only seem interested in developing games with experimental business models. Good for them, but I couldnāt care less.)
