I played the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic this past weekend and thought it felt a bit like World of Warcraft

But what do I, an MMO amateur know? Letâs see what the head of EA Games, the division overseeing The Old Republicâs development at BioWare has to say about SW:TOR vs. WoW.
Surely, EAâs Frank Gibeau can break it down, as he did for Industry Gamers:
âWhen I play World of Warcraft, you go and get your quests, and you go and do your quests, but it feels more like doing a shopping list at times,â Gibeau explained. â[Our game] is more about talking to characters, learning whatâs going on, investing in it, getting emotionally attached to it. You can still go in accessible ways and grind out quests if you want, but at the same time thereâs a higher-level story thatâs carrying you through The Old Republic. It operates across multiple classes from Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitors, bounty hunters, spies, troopers, to Jedis⊠itâs a really fantastic world.â
Got it?
