The Galaxy S26 Ultra Is 70% Off During Pre-Order, Here’s What You Need to Qualify

The Galaxy S26 Ultra normally costs $1,299 but Samsung will hand you $900 back if you meet this condition.

If you were planning to order a Galaxy S26 later, that window may be closing faster than expected: Samsung’s pre-order page already shows certain colorways slipping out of the March 11 launch delivery slot with some configurations now pushed to April.

But beyond securing a day-one delivery, there’s another reason the pre-order phase is the single best moment to buy: Samsung is pricing aggressively right now.  Launch week is when the company needs to make a statement against the competition and to do that, it’s offering (massive) discounts on what are arguably the best smartphones of 2026.

If you want the phone and the deal, both require acting now: Pre-ordering the Galaxy S26+ or S26 Ultra on samsung.com today unlocks Samsung’s most aggressive launch pricing in years. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB, trade-in credit goes up to $900 on a phone that starts at $1,299 which brings your actual out-of-pocket cost down to just $399 (which is close to 70% off the base price).

On the Galaxy S26+ 256GB which starts at $1,099, the trade-in offer goes up to $700 (which means you could walk away with a flagship large-screen phone for as little as $399 as well) and makes the jump to a premium device far more affordable than the sticker price suggests. Not trading in? Samsung still hands you $150 in credit toward add-ons, plus up to 10% off Galaxy Watches and Buds.

The deal is only good for a short time as shown by the countdown timer on Samsung’s product page. Some colors are already moving toward April delivery so waiting even a few days could mean missing the deal and launch day.

Two phones, two different reasons to buy

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the best phone in the line but the S26+ is a great choice if you want a big screen experience without spending a lot of money. It costs $1,099 for 256GB or $1,299 for 512GB which is a good price range. If you trade in your old phone, you can get up to $700 back, which means the real cost can go down to as low as $399 which is an amazing price for a phone at this level.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy is a custom version of Qualcomm’s latest chip that is only available on Samsung phones. The performance boost over last year is huge: the CPU is up to 19% faster, the GPU is up to 24% faster and the NPU is up to 39% faster. This last one is especially important because Galaxy AI is built into the software. The whole experience runs on Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite that means Now Nudge, which suggests tasks based on your data, Automated App Actions, which can do multi-step tasks in third-party apps for you, AI-powered photo editing through Photo Assist, and Call Screening, which stops unknown and possibly fraudulent callers from reaching you.

The Privacy Display is a unique feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra that sets it apart from the rest: It’s a pixel-level screen technology that makes the edges of the display darker so that people next to you can’t see it. It also hides notifications, passwords and PIN codes automatically: You can’t help but wonder how you lived without this feature right away.

You can get both phones in Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue, White, and Black. Silver Shadow and Pink Gold are only available online but as mentioned, not every color is still available for March 11, so if you have a favorite, check now instead of thinking you can come back to it later.
