The seventh
Star Wars film officially has a name now—and the internet has a surprising amount to say about a subtitle.
Mostly, there are a lot of jokes out there. It’s hard not to poke some fun at the title, which manages to be both grandiose and generic. If nothing else, “The Force Awakens” opens up the door for tons of puns about the Force being asleep. Sure, there
is tons of hype about the new movie…along with cynicism about Star Wars as a money-making machine. But regardless of how you feel about the upcoming movie, one thing is clear: everyone is talking about it.
Here’s some of what the internet had to say about
The Force Awakens.

Canonically speaking does the Force Awaken before it is Unleashed? Or vice versa?

Quick, everyone dissect the Star Wars title as much as humanly possible for all potential hidden meanings.

STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Star Trek Into Darkness"
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens"
Abrams can't get enough vague, weak-ass subtitles. He still needs an "Origins."

It sounds like a video game title but still better than ATTACK OF THE CLONES #TheForceAwakens

Maybe they're trying to symbolize the start of a new era by not including a number in #TheForceAwakens

Star Wars Episode VII is called The Force Awakens. It must have fallen asleep watching The Phantom Menace.
