Remember that Kick-Ass video game that came out with the movie back in April? Thereās a ānew and improvedā version coming out next week that makes that one look like a beta version. Isnāt the digital age grand?
Itās a sign of these digital times. Nearly seven months since WHA Entertainment introduced the Kick-Ass video game on the PlayStation Network, the company is releasing Kick-Ass New and Improved. Do out on November 9, this updated version of the game incorporates AI balancing and sound and trophy improvements into the game, along with a revamped Red Mist boss fight.
Itās fixing what the developers felt went wrong, seven months after the fact.
The updated version also features a new level, Frankās Night Club, with some new enemies to fight, so itās not all about fixes, but when they call the game Kick-Ass New and Improved, one has to wonder why it wasnāt this good in the first place.
Itās the same feeling I get when Iām shopping and see āNew Improved Tasteā on packages of snack chips. Isnāt that a way of admitting the taste wasnāt good enough in the first place?
āWe are committed to continually updating and improving the game,ā said Howard Horowitz, Founder and CEO of WHA Entertainment, Inc. āThe great thing about todayās digital entertainment platforms is the ability for developers to go back and update content for consumers who previously purchased the game as well as new players.ā
Players who previously purchased the game will get New and Improved as a free update. The game goes on sale November9 for $9.99.
