Steve Wiebe, international nice guy and star of the documentary âKing of Kongâ, doesnât just sit around all day playing video games. He also writes and records albums.
This is his debut album, appropriately titled âThe King of Songâ. Those expecting a collection of songs dedicated to Donkey Kong and Billy Mitchellâs ties will be disappointed, however, as itâs 11 tracks of Christian music, with song names like âChapel in the Pinesâ and âPilot in my Soulâ.
A shame, then, but itâs not a total write-off, as itâs so cheesy it sounds like the soundtrack to an inspirational telemovie. Play it over âKing of Kongâ (of which youâll get an autographed copy if you buy the CD!) in slow motion and youâve got yourself a fun afternoon.
