Weāre three days away from E3, which means itās the perfect time to start thinking about games that came out 20 years ago.
As I announced last month, this summer Iām plotting out a special projectāsort of a book club for old-school JRPGs. Every week or two weāll play and talk about an old game, hopefully finding interesting things to say about how they hold up, what they mean, and whether theyāre as good as we remember.
I certainly donāt think Iāll finish all of these gamesāa week isnāt nearly enough time to get through most JRPGsāso donāt worry about cranking through a 20-hour game every week. If you want to follow along, all you have to do is play enough to get a feel for each one.
So without further ado, hereās what the schedule will look likeāand remember, these are the days weāll meet to discuss each of these games, so youāll want to start playing before each of these dates.
June 20 ā Lufia 2
June 27 ā Soul Blazer
July 4 ā Break
July 11 ā Chrono Trigger
July 18 ā Break
July 25 ā Final Fantasy VI
August 1 ā SaGa Frontier
August 8 ā Break
August 15 ā Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete
August 22 ā Star Ocean 2
Letās see how this goes. It should be fun. JOIN ME.
