Rocksteady Studiosâ Batman: Arkham Asylum was surprisingly excellent, but not without its âmistakes,â including one that made the gameâs art director âwant to cry a little bit.â Itâs a mistake that will be corrected in the sequel.
Rocksteadyâs David Hego, responsible for the gameâs exaggerated aesthetic, said at this weekâs Develop conference that Arkham Asylumâs x-ray-like âDetective Modeâ visuals were just too âpowerful.â That some players sped through the game using Detective Vision throughout is what reportedly rubbed Hego the wrong way, according to GameSpotâs account of the Develop talk.
âWeâre going to try not to do that mistake again,â Hego said, Rocksteady will design the next gameâs Detective Vision âmore like augmented reality next timeâ so that players can enjoy the sequelâs art design.
While we donât know much about what Rocksteadyâs next Batman game will beâWhat will it be called? Will Robin really be in it?âweâre definitely looking forward to it. Perhaps weâll hear more at Comic-Con next weekâŠ
