It’s hard to remember what life was like back before we had big, beautiful fields in which to fight giant monsters and loot their corpses for crafting materials. There was a time when it was enough simply to move a few blocks into place, open a trap door, and climb down into a secret room wherein a little boomerang sat nestled inside a treasure chest.
Now you can barely move five feet without knocking into a game that wants you to fight wild animals and use their bones to cook a stew with special stat-buffing side-effects. Video games are becoming one hell of a twist on America’s Test Kitchen.
