Video games have a huge presence at this yearâs Comic-Con, with offerings from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, Activision, Konami and more. Going by the long list of games in this post, it may be the biggest ever.
If you find yourself at the show, stop by these publisher and developer booths to get your hands on these still-unreleased games. For those of you unfortunately stuck at home, keep your eyes peeled for new hands-on impressions of the biggest games of the show, which looks remarkably like a mini-E3.
Hereâs whoâs bringing what to Comic-Con 2010.
Activision
The publisher of Guitar Hero and Call of Duty will be bringing a handful of games to Comic-Con, weâre just not 100% sure what those games are yet. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is the safest of bets, with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Call of Duty: Black Ops likely candidates. What else do they have planned? We wonât have long to wait. Activisionâs event happens during Wednesdayâs Preview Night.
Capcom
Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is going to be at Capcomâs typically big booth in a big way, complete with four new playable characters added to the roster. Other games on hand in some capacity will include Dead Rising 2, Okamiden, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Sengoku Basara. Producers from each of these games, Niitsuma, Keiji Inafune, Motohide Eshiro and more will be on hand and hosting Comic-Con panels.
EA
Medal of Honor and Rock Band 3 will be playable at EAâs booth, while Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age 2 are playable elsewhere. EA will be holding panels for Darkspore, 38 Studiosâ Reckoning and Dead Space 2.
Hudson
Oops! Prank Party, Bomberman LIVE: Battlefest, Bonk: Brink of Extinction and Beyblade: Metal Fusion will offer a little something for everyone at Hudsonâs booth, sure to be loaded down with giveaways and a man in a Bomberman suit.
Konami
In addition to hosting Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, who will judge a Konami-held cosplay tournament at the show, expect Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to have some presence. Games Otomedius Gorgeous and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 are guaranteed to be there, but donât be surprised if we see a Castlevania game or two alongside Karaoke Revolution Glee. No guarantees, but we have our fingers crossed!
Namco
Splatterhouse and Enslaved will be two of things Iâll play first at the convention center, but for the anime fans in tow, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will offer plenty of beat âem up action.
Nintendo
Only two games are locked in for Nintendoâs trip to Comic-Con, Wii title Metroid: Other M and the already released Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for the Nintendo DS. The latter will offer a special downloadable treasure map called Mortamor at the show, available for the first time in North America.
Sony Computer Entertainment & PlayStation
On the show floor, you can get your mitts on LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5 (in 3D!), The Sly Collection, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, and a few PlayStation Move games. SCEA will also be hosting an invite-only event on Thursday night, featuring MotorStorm Apocalypse, Dead Nation, Pixeljunk Shooter 2, echochrome ii and more. If you missed anything at E3, like I did, donât miss it.
Warner Bros.
Super Scribblenauts will be there! What else?! How about Batman: The Brave and the Bold and The Lord of the Rings: Aragornâs Quest? Theyâll be there too!
Microsoft & Xbox
Comic-Con is your chance to play Summer of Arcade games like Limbo, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, Comic Jumper, Hydrophobia and more. Microsoftâs booth will also give you a chance to try out Halo: Reach, Fable III, and Gears of War 3. If you can make it to the Xbox 360 Experience Room at the Hard Rock Cafe, youâll get your hands on⊠well, near Kinect. Joy Ride, Dance Central and more motion controlled games will only be playable at the Hard Rock.
Everything ElseâŠ
THQ will bring Red Faction: Armageddon and Major League Eater Joey Chestnut, who will try to eat more Mars Bars than any other human ever has. Square Enix will be there, armed with tons of merchandise, including Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light fans, but their games line-up is unclear. Super Hero Squad Online will be at the Marvel Entertainment Booth, Vindictus from Nexon will be there, as will plenty of other games that may not be playable but will attend in spirit.
