Three Days After Cyber Monday, Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights (200ft, 120 LEDs) Still at Record Low

Control 120 individually addressable LEDs from warm white to vibrant color gradients.

In December, holiday lights look great but being able to use them all year long gives you a lot more options for your outdoor space. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on Philips Hue’s outdoor system, Govee has a cheaper option that works just as well and has the same features. For instance, the Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro kit is now $459 instead of the usual $759 which is still the lowest price ever, even three days after the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales were supposed to end.

This 200-foot system with 120 individually addressable LED lights solves the problem of having to put up and take down seasonal decorations all the time. It also gives you professional-looking accent lighting every day.

Why These Lights Are Good for More Than Just Holidays

The new lens design makes a triangular lighting effect that spreads out the glow instead of making harsh point sources whcih means that your house looks lit up instead of just having bright spots. Each LED can produce up to 50 lumens and works with color temperatures from 2700K warm white to 6500K cool white which means you can use them for everyday outdoor lighting, not just for special occasions. With the RGBWWIC feature, you can control red, green, blue, white, warm white, and separate chips and it lets you make color gradients and animations that go all the way across the installation.

You can change the layout to fit your roofline or other architectural features because the design can be cut and extended, and you don’t have to stick with set lengths. You can cut the strand at certain points and reconnect sections with waterproof joints every 16.4 feet: This lets you go around corners, dormers, and other things. The whole system can handle up to 200 feet of lights so you can light up a big house or put together lights on different sides of your building.

Using the included VHB adhesive and mounting clips that attach to your eaves or fascia, it takes about eight seconds to install each light. The lights are 2 to 4 inches away from the wall which gives them that professional floating look instead of sitting flush against the building. The IP67 rating on both the lights and the adapter means that rain, snow, and sprinkler systems won’t hurt the electronics, and the IP65 control box can be mounted outside without needing extra weatherproofing. These lights can work in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 140°F so they can handle everything from harsh winter weather to hot summer weather without losing any performance.

Matter, Alexa, and Google Assistant all work with smart home integration, so you can control the whole system with your voice without having to take out your phone. You can control each LED separately with the Govee Home app which means you can make your own patterns that draw attention to certain architectural features or move in ways that fit your design vision. There are 75 pre-set scene modes in the app for holidays, seasons, and general ambiance so you can switch from patriotic red, white, and blue to spooky Halloween orange and purple without having to program anything yourself. The lights will last for about 17 years of daily use at three hours per day, which means they will probably last longer than you do in the house.

This $300 off makes permanent outdoor lighting competitive with buying good temporary Christmas lights every few years. For less than the cost of high-end single-color strip lighting, you get individual LED control, weather resistance, and the ability to connect to a smart home. If you’ve been thinking about getting permanent outdoor lighting but couldn’t justify the cost of Philips Hue, the Govee system is on sale for the lowest price ever and has similar features for about 40% of the price.
