The TP-Link Deco 7 BE23 Dual-Band BE3600 WiFi 7 Mesh Wi-Fi System has been designed to help solve the type of home network issue that typically manifests as dead spots, slow areas, and devices competing for a solid signal. This mesh system uses three units to spread coverage, enabling seamless streaming, web surfing, video calling, and downloading games without significant slowdown as you move from one room to another. Plus, you get Wi-Fi 7 technology and multi-gig wired connection capabilities in a single kit.
A WiFi Mesh router system to improve your home connection
The three Deco units in this kit can cover more space than a typical single router can. This system can cover up to 6,500 square feet and support up to 150+ devices. In addition to providing wide coverage, these units work together to form a mesh network, enabling continuous connectivity to your devices regardless of where you move in the house.
Wi-Fi 7 support is the primary reason this mesh system is more advanced than older kits. TP-Link combines Multi-Link Operation, Multi-RUs, and 4K-QAM with a dual-band 4-stream design that delivers up to 2882 Mbps on 5GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4GHz, for a total of up to 3.6 Gbps. With this type of performance, the newest smartphones, laptop computers, and other Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices will be able to stream higher bit-rate content, download larger files, and enjoy lower-latency connections than they could with previous versions of Wi-Fi.
In addition to improved wireless performance, the Deco BE23 units include two 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN ports, enhancing wired connections. The availability of these higher-speed ports enables users to achieve faster wired backhaul between units and desktop or gaming systems, and the ability to take full advantage of multi-gig internet service. TP-Link states that the mesh system will also allow users to combine wired and wireless backhaul connections to enhance network stability, especially when the home’s physical layout limits the effectiveness of either wired or wireless connections.
Speed and performance are important, but are not the only considerations when installing new networking hardware. Once installed, the security and configuration options become equally important. The Deco BE23 comes equipped with HomeShield support, WPA3 encryption, guest networking, remote access, parental controls, and the ability to configure a separate SSID for IoT devices. Additionally, the Deco BE23 is backward compatible with prior Wi-Fi versions and works with any Internet Service Provider, except that a modem is required to connect to most ISPs. For $180, down from the original $250 list price, the Deco 7 BE23 can cover a larger portion of a home than many older mesh systems and offers Wi-Fi 7 and multi-gig ports.
