Last night, Brutal Legend creator Tim Schafer hopped on a plane to fly across the sea, all to meet with âsomeone whoâs threatening to cancelâ. Who could it be?
As you recall from earlier this week, Tim Curry has replaced Ronnie James Dio as Doviculus, the Brutal Legendâs main antagonist, but Tim Schafer assured Kotaku that all was well. Seems like that might not be the case, according to a tweet from Schafer, indicating he was speeding across the ocean to try and stem a potential cancellation. Could Curry be getting cold feet, or is someone elseâs voice on the line? All we know is that Schafer is going to an awful lot of trouble.

You heard the man, humanity! We canât let him down in his hour of need! Letâs spray down the Statue of Liberty with ectoplasm, throw on some Jackie Wilson music, and show him what weâre made of!
Sorry, wrong game.
Update: While I was writing this article, the Twitter-addicted Tim Schafer updated with what seems like very good news indeed: âHumanity, I knew I could count on you! You and your pal Money, of course. :)â
This doesnât mean we shouldnât still goo the Statue of Liberty, just to be on the safe side.
Update Part 2: All of that concern from us crazy bloggers, and it was all for nothing. Tim updates: âOh, you crazy blogs. I appreciate the concern, but I just meant cancel a recording session. Not cancel themselves from the game.â
Well great. Now what are we going to do with this giant moving statue? Someone call MicrosoftâŠwere going to need a giant Project Natal.
