Are you one of the PC gamers who prefers Origin to Steam?
Ok, ok! Sorry I asked. But hey, at least we can all agree that Titanfall is pretty awesome. And as Kotakuâs Kirk Hamilton has said many times now, EAâs hit multiplayer shooter plays like a dream on the PC. So if youâre one of the unconvinced but still curious, you can play the whole game for free on your PC this weekend thanks to EAâs newly minted Origin Game Time program.
Now, unless youâre a PC gamer whoâs been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, youâve probably heard of this little thing called the Steam Summer Sale going on right now. EA is continuing its subtle habit of shade-throwing by debuting a new kind of free game service for its competing PC gaming platform at the same. By EAâs description, it sounds like a truncated version of the Instant Game Collection that Sony makes available for PlayStation Plus subscribers:
Itâs Game Time! This is a brand new program on Origin: itâs free time with full games. Origin Game Time isnât a demo, itâs the full game playable for free for as long as thereâs time on your Game Time clock. And weâre kicking off Origin Game Time with a truly massive experience: Titanfall on PC.
This weekend youâll be able to download Titanfall and play for free for two days straight. Weâre launching Origin Game Time for Titanfall across the world over the next several hours, so if you donât see it available yet in your territory, you will soon. Origin Game Time games will appear on our Free Games page when theyâre available to download.
So: suit up, pilot. Your Titan is ready. But act now, because itâll self destruct in 24 hours unless you cave in and buy the thing.
