The Writers Guild of America is a slight misnomer. In fact, there are two separate unions, WGA West and WGA East. But they work in tandem, and once a year they come together to celebrate the past yearās achievements in writing. The 2011 awards were presented on Sunday, February 19, in a simultaneous, shared event that took place in both New York and Los Angeles.
The WGA recognizes the place of video games and new media alongside the more traditional radio, film, and television. Last nightās award for Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing was presented to writer Amy Hennig, for Uncharted 3: Drakeās Deception
This is the second time Hennigās work on Nathan Drakeās globetrotting, treasure-hunting adventures has been honored with a WGA award. She also won a 2009 award (in February, 2010) for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
