Watch Helen Mirren Earn Money Right Before Your Eyes

Oscar-winner Helen Mirren was reportedly paid £500,000 (US$800,000) to appear in a Wii Fit Plus ad. This is that ad!

“Nintendo insisted they wanted Helen and no one else,” a friend of Mirren’s is apparently quoted as saying. “They wanted an older, more attractive woman to show that the Wii isn’t just for children.”

The commercial is pretty simple. It’s like Nintendo showed up at Mirren’s house and said, “Here, play Wii Fit Plus for a bit and talk at your kitchen table.” And she said, “Alrighty.” And then a truck full of money dumped a load of cash on her lawn.

Not sure what I was expecting. But for $800,000, there should be a car chase, explosions or at least a fistfight.
