As expected, Microsoftās Kinect made its second appearance on Jimmy Fallonās show earlier this evening. The first show, last year, went OK! This one, less so.

First, Kudo Tsunoda may be the brains behind Kinect, but heās also a giant dork. He probably shouldnāt be the public āfaceā of the thing (sorry!). Second, those on-cue applauses arenāt fooling anybody; this demo does little but show that in its present state (remember, it doesnāt launch until November, so thereās time for fixes), Kinect is twitchy and, even worse, laggy. For example, in the rafting game, when players have to jump, Miranda Cosgrove is landing just as her avatar is taking off. Egads.
