Going into Arcadias no Ikusahime (The Warrior Princess of Arcadias) I expected two things: 1) A beautiful-looking game and 2) gameplay like that of an old school side-scrolling brawler. What I didnât expect was having to control an army in real time while I did it.
There is even a third type of level where your army is pit against an enemy army. However, instead of fighting along side you, they battle in the background while you try to deal with their leaders. But as the different soldier types are each strong and weak compared to other soldier types, you must constantly issue orders and swap your different types of troops in and out to be the most effective.
Check out the video above (with commentary by yours truly) for an in-depth look.
Arcadias no Ikusahime was released in Japan on September 26, 2013, for the PlayStation 3. There is currently no word on an international release.
