This Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon thing simply will not quit. Yes, I know today is April Fools’ Day, but god damn, whatever this is—a film, a game extension, a fantastic hoax—Ubisoft did get it rated by the freaking Australian Classification Board (where it got an 18+ for a “high impact sex scene.”)
Meantime, do visit the “official” site, which seems to present Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon as a film rather than a game, complete with a “director’s interview” and a bunch of fake film festival accolades. The site is an outstanding homage to horrid 1990s web design. Check out the store, too. You can (not) buy steak there.
[Second Update] Reader piegineer found a Konami code Easter egg on the site. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left right, B, A brings up a crosshair that lets you destroy images on the page. More awesome 1990s web designery!
[Update] Eagle-eyed commenters have noticed this single frame toward the end of the trailer, which appears to show a screenshot (???) of the game. We still haven’t heard back from Ubisoft, which seems to be content to let this thing ferment all day.
