When Brilliant Scientists Also Have Amazing Toy Collections

Dr. Mark C. Glassy’s official bio reads like this:

Dr. Mark C. Glassy is the Chief Executive Officer of Nascent Biologics, Inc., the Director of and Professor at the Integrated Medical Science Association Foundation, and is on the faculty of the University of California, San Diego in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department and Bioscience Department.

Dr. Glassy has over 160 publications in the scientific and medical literature, is the inventor of several issued patents in the human antibody field, is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, HUMAN ANTIBODIES, and the Program Chairman of the meeting series, “The International Conference on Human Antibodies and Hybridomas”.

Glassy is the inventor of Pritumumab, the first human antibody used to treat a cancer patient. and is the recipient of the 2003 Arthur Furst Award.

That should be enough for one man to hang his hat on, but nope. Dr. Glassy has to go and have one of the world’s finest toy collections to boot

Beginning his scavenging in 1956, he has over 85,000 individual items on display, the majority of them sci-fi in nature, but there’s some cool horror stuff in there as well.
