Shiny Entertainment founder David Perry shows off a picture of World of Warcraft running on an iPad, made possible by the streaming technology of his newer company, Gaikai.
Gaikaiâs technology is more than simply streaming video games over the internet. Gaikai aims to host entire retail copies of popular games like World of Warcraft, streaming them directly to usersâ computers and handheld devices, doing away with the need to upgrade their machines, apply patches, or worry about maintenance whatsoever. Weâre really interested to see what works well with streaming and will be trying just about every genre of game, on every device possible as we explore server-side computing. This is World of Warcraft streamed from a Gaikai server over regular Wifi.
