In 2005-06, the Xbox 360 and PS3 were cutting-edge pieces of consumer electronics, finely tuned to deliver a premium gaming performance with the very latest technology inside.
As is the way with technology, though, as components mature they get smaller and cheaper, so itās not too bit a surprise to hear Nvidia saying the next generation of mobile phones will āoutperformā the current generation of consoles.
āThe PS3 and Xbox 360 are barely more powerful than mobile devicesā, Bit-Tech reports Nvidiaās Senior Vice President of Content & Technology Tony Tamasi as saying. āThe next click of mobile phones will outperform [them].ā
So by this time next year, or at the latest the year after that, as companies like Samsung are announcing phones like the Galaxy S5, we should start seeing this level of visuals in action. The games will probably still be ruined by touch-screen controls, of course, but hey, at least theyāll look nicer.
