007 First Light is Hitman maker IO Interactiveâs upcoming James Bond game. It was one of the major third-party games shown during the Nintendo Direct for the original Switch 2 reveal, but itâs no longer coming to the platform day-and-date with the other console versions following a last-minute delay.
â007 First Light comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27th, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer,â IO Interactive announced on Wednesday. âWeâre excited to see players discovering James Bondâs reimagined origin story, and we are looking forward to bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.â
The statement comes in response to an online leak alleging the Switch 2 port had been indefinitely delayed. IO Interactive didnât immediately respond to a request for comment about why the Nintendo version wonât be ready on time.

âLater this summerâ might not sound like too much longer for fans on Switch 2 to have to wait, but 007 First Light isnât the first game to go through porting issues. Borderlands 4 was supposed to come to Switch 2 last fall but was also delayed at the last minute. After months of silence, Gearbox Entertainment quietly acknowledged that development on the port had been indefinitely suspended with no clear insight into why.
FromSoftwareâs Elden Ring, another one of the first ports revealed for Switch 2, is also still MIA. A playable version appeared at Gamescom 2025 in rough shape, though more recent hands-on impressions have suggested the open-world RPG is finally running at a better framerate on Nintendoâs next-gen console. That game doesnât have a firm release date yet either, though, suggesting the hardware isnât making it as easy to turn the Switch 2 into a port machine as some developers were expecting.
