Out of all the traditional looking cities in Japan, my favorite is Kyoto ā hands down. But for a truly beautiful, modern-looking city, Kobe is tops.
Of course, when I think about how so much of the really modern buildings and structures where built in Kobe, I get depressedā¦ (After the devastating Great Hanshin Earthquake.) Still, with the harbor and the mountains, Kobe is truly spectacular.
