PlayStation has leaned so hard into prestige, story-driven games that you may have forgotten the brand was once associated with platforming excellence. Astro Bot is a big ol’ tribute to PlayStation history, and what better way to package that than in a pitch-perfect platformer that turns all of its most iconic characters into robots you collect. If you don’t care for an endless assault of PlayStation promotion, Astro Bot is still a great 3D platformer without all that baggage. We even gave it our Game of the Year award in 2024, despite our criticisms. — Kenneth Shepard
