Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
To distill Death Stranding 2 into a single paragraph is like trying to fit a blue whale covered in tar into a single small box. But, here’s my shot: Death Stranding 2 is at times a very, very weird, confusing, and hard-to-follow experience. That’s the part everyone talks about. However, what makes Death Stranding 2 so great is the many hours of contemplative hiking, resource management, exploration, and logistical tinkering that exist between the long, wacky cutscenes. Hiking across a long mountain range for a few hours and then later being able to soar over it using ziplines you made is one of the best feelings in a video game in 2025. -ZZ
A good match for: Anyone who enjoys organizing resources, hiking, and weird stuff.
A bad match for: People who hate long cutscenes and prefer lots of action.
