The Week In Games: South Of Midnight, Super Meat Boy 3D, And I Am Jesus Christ

I Am Jesus Christ is a first-person immersive sim that follows the carpenter’s life from baby to crucifixion. Let’s see how long it takes Steam players to add Skate mods to the biblical biography.

All in all it’s a quiet week for game releases. Super Meat Boy 3D is finally out on console and PC. Mixed reviews call it both an “infuriating” platformer and one that “begs to be conquered.” Last year’s great action-adventure South of Midnight gets ported to PS5 and Switch 2 this week. And Warframe is getting its next-gen upgrade for Nintendo’s newer hardware.

It all adds up to this spring break being a great time to catch up on the backlog or, if you’re me, continue chipping away at Crimson Desert and the last of my faction contracts in Marathon. I’m trying to pick a third game, something retro, to revisit as a special treat. Right now I’m leaning toward finishing a playthrough of Vagrant Story I started last spring.
