Comfortable earbuds with excellent audio

Active noise cancellation on the P31i reduces outside noise by up to 52 decibels and adjusts in real time to what’s happening around you. Walk from a quiet apartment into a loud coffee shop, and the earbuds ramp up cancellation on their own. According to Anker, that’s roughly three times stronger than the noise cancellation on the older P30i, which puts these in reach of much more expensive models when you’re on a plane or in an office.

Sound quality comes from 11mm titanium-coated drivers and Hi-Res Audio support via LDAC, a higher-bandwidth Bluetooth codec that preserves more detail than standard SBC or AAC. Bass is about twice as strong as the P30i, and the overall tuning stays balanced enough for most genres without getting muddy on heavier tracks. The Soundcore app includes a custom EQ if you want to make further adjustments.

Battery life is one of the standout specs for the price. You get up to 10 hours from a single charge with noise cancellation off, or 8 hours with it on, and the charging case extends that to 50 hours. A quick 10-minute charge from empty gets you about 3.5 hours of playback, which covers an unexpected trip or a long commute if you forgot to dock them the night before.

Calls are handled by six microphones and an AI noise reduction algorithm that separates your voice from background noise. There’s also wind-noise reduction built in, so outdoor calls stay clear on a windy sidewalk. A real-time AI translation feature in the Soundcore app supports over 100 languages, and it’s the kind of thing that sounds gimmicky until you actually travel and use it.

The Soundcore P31i by Anker Adaptive Noise Canceling Earbuds are on sale for $37 instead of the usual $60. Between the real ANC, the long battery life, and Hi-Res sound, these check most of the boxes you’d expect from a more expensive set of earbuds without the flagship price tag.
